- College Essay & Application Workshop
Class: College Essay & Application Workshop Instructors: Heidi Hider & Leah Birnkrant Tues- Thurs/August 11th - 13th/6:00pm-8:30pm/Highschool/$400 This course is designed to guide high school seniors step-by-step through the college application process in a structured, supportive environment. Students will actively work on their applications during class time, ensuring steady progress and personalized feedback. Students will work on various components of the college application process, including setting up and filling out the Common Application, including activities section, drafting the personal statement/college essay, and written responses for college specific supplements. Throughout the course, students will receive individualized guidance and participate in regular one-on-one conferences with instructors. Heidi Hider has worked as a high school counselor for nearly twenty years. She has successfully counseled hundreds of students to help them achieve their post-secondary goals. She loves to collaborate to help students find their own voice in the college application process, particularly through the personal statement. Heidi has a Bachelor's degree in English from Nazareth College of Rochester and a Master's degree in School Counseling from Boston College. In her free time she enjoys reading, baking, and traveling with her husband and two teenage daughters. Leah Birnkrant has been a high school counselor for over ten years, helping hundreds of students with the college process. She loves to work with students on the entire application, from brainstorming their essay to refining the Activities section. Leah has a Bachelor's degree in mathematics and secondary education from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. After teaching math for two years in Tennessee, Leah earned her M.Ed and C.A.S from Harvard Graduate School of Education in Counseling. In her free time, Leah loves summers in Newport, RI, Disney movies, anything pumpkin, trying new recipes, and spending time with her husband and two young children.

Instructor: Mr. Ben Class: Mr. Bens Obstacle Course Date: Mondays Nov 2nd - Dec 14th Time: 6:30 to 7:30 Age: K - 5 Price: $140 Mr. Ben is a Roudenbush favorite! Join him for one hour of fun, in a high energy and active atmosphere for children. They will get their bodies moving and sure to be tired when they are done! Mr. Ben will run your children through a variety of obstacle courses. Obstacle courses provide several benefits including enhancing muscle strength and body awareness. Developing fine and gross motor skills. Improving their balance and memory while boosting sensory processing skills. All while following directions. Mr. Ben will make this a fun and exciting class with high energy and music! Mr. Ben lives here in Westford where he resides with his loving wife and their 5 children. He has years of experience in early childhood education and working with school age children here in this community and surrounding towns. In 2016 he created "Mr. Ben Sports and Fitness" and over the years his experience has opened many doors to other creative classes that he has taught here at Roudenbush and other locations. Mr. Bens love of sports, and music stems from having grown up in a family of artists, musicians and athletes. He plays many instruments and incorporates the music into a high energy gross motor program that will be sure to get your children moving.

Were your DNA results confusing? Are you at a "brick wall" in tree building? Do you need personal help with a birthparent search? If personal help might be more appropriate than a class, please consider a custom DNA and or Tree Building consultation. You can define the help that you need. The time will focus on either solving the research question for you or teaching you the approach if you'd prefer instruction to continue on your own. Dr. Leah Abraham has a PhD in Chemical Engineering. Her science background in DNA includes experience sequencing DNA at MIT and teaching college and graduate classes in Biology, Bioengineering, and Statistics at Tufts, BU, Northeastern, and Merrimack College. Dr. Abraham has personal experience using DNA results to locate her own birth parents (in one intense 4 week search effort). She has personal ancestry.com tree with over 300 DNA matches traced to common ancestors, as well as trees on MyHeritage, FamilyTree, WikiTree, and FamilySearch. Dr. Abraham has helped dozens of other people use their DNA results to locate birth relatives. She is able to advise on advanced DNA and tree tools including DNAged.com, GenomeMatePro, Family Tree Maker, and Charting Companion.

Over five action-packed days, young creators will explore every aspect of video production—from brainstorming creative concepts and writing scripts to operating professional cameras, directing scenes, and editing their final projects using industry-standard software. Whether students are picking up a camera for the first time or building on existing skills, our supportive environment encourages experimentation, collaboration, and creative expression.
