- Classical Variations Ballet (Jun - Jul)
Class: Classical Variations--Beginner & Intermediate Ballet Instructor: Rachel Toups Saturdays/Jun 20th - Jul 25th/11:15am- 12:15pm/Adults/$135 Variations are solo dances within the context of a ballet, to explore a particular character or situation. In this class, we will begin with a simple barre intended to warm up our muscles, and then we will transition into learning a specific variation. Come dressed in any clothing that you feel comfortable moving in; leotard and tights not required. Rachel started dancing at the age of 2 ½. At 8 years old, she began performing with the professional company Dance Prism. She is currently a soloist and company member, performing roles such as Lead Marzipan in The Nutcracker, among others. In college, she discovered her love of sharing her art while teaching a classical variations class. Rachel’s hope is to continue sharing her love of ballet with those who want to learn, regardless of dance background. This class is designed for adults with no prior ballet training or those who prefer a slower pace. It begins with simple exercises at the barre, with clear explanation and demonstration throughout. Midway through, the class transitions to center work, where participants learn combinations across the floor. - Gel Plate Printing
Class: Gel Plate Printing Instructor: Robin Grant Tuesdays/September 29th - October 27th/6:00 - 8:00/Adults/$270 This 5 week class will encompass an array of gel plate printing techniques, such as mark making, incorporating texture and design, masks and stencils, stamps, image transfers and collage. You will get to keep the many supplies provided. A supplies fee of $100 payable to the instructor is due at 1st class (cash, check or Venmo). No artistic experience is necessary. Come with an apron and expect lots of fun!
