Service Description

Instructor: Ms. Tina Class: Children's Martial Arts Mondays/Sept 22nd -Dec 1st/9:30am - 10:30am/3 to 5 years old/$275 NO CLASS 10/13 Learn moves, play games, break a board, practice respect & discipline! Our fun classes focus on positive discipline, respect, self control, and other soft skills. Class starts with a bow to show respect, followed by a martial arts based game to warm up. We then put gloves on the kids to practice kicks and punches on pads, and use a foam blocker for the kids to practice blocking strikes. After breaking a board, the gloves come off and we play more martial arts games. Before ending with mediation, we go over some of our character virtues, such as respect and discipline, explaining the concepts in a way the young kids can understand. We emphasize the importance of keeping our hands to ourselves, especially when they do not have the gloves on for safety. They will be given the opportunity to share their own ideas and what they have learned. We then practice slow breathing, being calm and peaceful during our guided meditation. Lastly, we hand out stickers and/or stamps. They may receive extra stickers or stamps for showing exemplary behavior. Kids will receive a white shirt and white belt upon sign up. As they progress through their training, they will earn stripes on their belt and a trophy when getting a belt promotion. With a background in martial arts, childcare, and mentoring, Tina brings a well-rounded, compassionate approach to teaching. She has over a decade of experience with preschool-aged children, a career in financial mentoring, and is a parent to a special needs child. She's excited to share her passion for martial arts while creating a positive, inclusive environment for every student.
