Service Description

Instructor: Snapology Staff Class: Robot Olympics & STEAM Survivor Date: August 12th - August 16th Time: 9:00 am - 3:30pm Age: K - 5 Price: $349 In Snapology's Robot Olympics program, students will build and program robots to compete in sports- themed challenges! Your child will expand their engineering skills by designing and experimenting with robotic attachments and refine their computer programming abilities by creating program codes that make their bots run races, play hockey, and so much more. Students will work in groups and use the LEGO® SPIKETM Prime technology to complete these exciting challenges. By giving our students challenges through games and friendly competition, they don't realize how quickly they are learning core programming skills for a future in STEM. Does your learner have what it takes to be a STEAM Survivor? If your child enjoys taking on engineering and design challenges, working with a team to complete timed tasks, and using partnerships to brainstorm and explore new possibilities to solve unique problems, this program is the perfect place for them to push their STEM and building skills to the next level! Throughout the program, students will be challenged to design and build complicated objects, work cooperatively with others to secure their place on a team, and compete to be the fastest and most precise competitors in the class. Although the tasks will be challenging, they will be structured and guided by a trained Snapologist who will make sure your child gets the support they need to be successful and get the most out of this unique, challenging program! This full-day program will run Monday-Friday from 9:00AM-3:30PM at the Rodenbush Community Center. Please pack at least two nut-free snacks and lunch and drinks. Additionally, please pack bug repellent and/or sunscreen. At Snapology, our mission is to promote creativity and learning through hands-on activities and organized play in a clean, safe, fun environment. Snapology’s vision is to create a fun environment for children to play and learn. We do this by introducing children to science, technology, engineering, and math through creative play. Our programs are focused on building confidence while developing problem solving and iterative learning skills. All of our staff are experienced educators who have worked in public and private schools, camp settings, and other recreation-like settings. Most hold or are eligible for their teaching license in Massachusetts.
