Instructor: Code Wiz Staff Class: Exploring Coding with Scratch Date: Thursdays Jan 11th - Feb 22nd 7 weeks Time: 4:00 - 4:50 Age: 7 - 8 years old Price: $249 Location: 175 Littleton Road Step into a world where creativity and technology unite, introducing young minds to the wonders of coding in a fun and engaging environment. Our Drag n Drop Coding with Scratch course is tailored for young beginners, offering a playful and interactive introduction to the universe of coding. Concepts Your Child Will Learn In this vibrant learning journey, children will explore: - Problem Solving: Enhance cognitive skills through interactive coding challenges and creative tasks. - Basic Coding Concepts: Grasp the foundations of coding, including variables, conditionals, loops, functions, and events, through intuitive drag-and-drop code blocks. - Mathematical Integration: Learn and apply mathematical concepts like x-y coordinates, negative numbers, angles, percentages, and remainders in coding projects. - Communication Skills: Foster effective communication, enhancing the ability to express ideas and collaborate with peers. - Creative Learning Experience: Children will immerse themselves in creating space shooter games, trivia games, music bands, computer generated art, math simulations, and storytelling projects. With Scratch’s user-friendly interface, coding becomes a playful experience where code blocks snap together, minimizing typing and maximizing creativity. -Unleash Imagination: Every class is an opportunity for children to unleash their imagination, drawing their own characters and bringing them to life with code. It’s a blend of learning and play, where every code block is a step towards creating something magical. How do kids learn at Code Wiz? Project-Driven Learning: Students complete tailored projects, fostering creativity and entrepreneurial skills. Montessori Style: Individualized, self-paced learning encourages exploration and engagement. Cool Rewards: Earn badges and “WizBucks” for completed projects, redeemable for prizes. Progress Tracking: Parents receive email and video reports on what the child accomplished.


Policy & Procedures

WITHDRAWAL POLICY: Our programs are supported totally by fees; therefore, full refunds are not given for withdrawals. In the event you would like to withdraw, you will receive a refund as follows: · If a participant withdraws from a program at least seven days prior to the start date a refund of the cost less 25% processing fee will be given. · If a participant withdraws from a program less than seven days prior to the start date, no refund will be issued. · No refunds are given for trips or special events. Cancellation Policy - I/We accept the following The Roudenbush Community Center, Inc. (TRCCI) Cancellation and Transfer Policy: A voucher less $10 will be issued for cancellations 7 days prior to start of program; no other refunds will be granted; no refunds will be issued for trips or special events; there will be a $10 fee to transfer from one class to another; vouchers expire one year from date of issue; if Roudenbush cancels a class, we will call participants and issue a full voucher or refund. Release of Liability for Minor - I/We, as parents/guardians of registered minor, hereby consent to his/her participation in the TRCCI Programs and to his/her use of the TRCCI facilities and equipment. I/We further agree to release and hold harmless TRCCI and their employees, agents and assigns from any and all liability or expenses arising out of any incident involving, or any account of any injury to the above named minor in connection with such program. I/We further consent to emergency treatment by a physician in the event of injury to, or illness of our child during his/her participation in this program. I/We accept full responsibility for all costs for any such emergency treatment. Photography Permission - I/We, as parents/guardians of registered minor, hereby consent to the taking of videos and photographs of my/our child which may be used in the promotion of the TRCCI Programs.
