All of our staff are certified by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC), and our programs are licensed through the EEC.

Our Mission

We recognize the unique needs of school-aged children and strive to provide a space where they can relax, learn, and grow after their school day. Our programs are designed to foster independence, creativity, and social connections while supporting the busy lives of working families. We believe in the value of providing children with both structured and unstructured time. Our daily routine incorporates quiet time for homework or individual reflection, followed by opportunities for free play and group activities. This balance allows children to engage in self-directed exploration and creativity, whether they are building, drawing, painting, or imagining new worlds with their peers. We recognize the importance of outdoor play and make the most of our large field area, where children can participate in games, sports, or art projects that encourage collaboration, movement, and fun. In addition to these daily activities, we offer seamless access to a variety of enrichment classes such as gymnastics, cooking, and art, all within our center. By providing transportation from local elementary schools and offering care during school vacation weeks, early-release days, professional development days, and snow days, we aim to meet the needs of both children and their families with flexibility and convenience. Our staff are dedicated to nurturing each child’s development, fostering a sense of community, and promoting positive social interactions. We are committed to supporting the whole child, helping them develop life skills, build friendships, and cultivate a love for learning and discovery in a caring and stimulating environment. At the heart of our philosophy is a commitment to providing high-quality care that meets the needs of children and their working parents, ensuring that every child feels safe, valued, and excited to return each day.

We're Special!

Here's why...

At Roudenbush Community Center, we offer a variety of unique benefits that make our School Age Programs the ideal choice for children and families. Our program is designed with both the needs of children and working families in mind, providing high-quality care in a convenient, enriching, and nurturing environment.

Certified and Experienced Staff    All of our staff members are certified by the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC), as well as CPR and First Aid certified, ensuring that your child is in safe, capable hands at all times. Additionally, our program is rated through the Massachusetts Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS), reflecting our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of care and education. We pride ourselves on building strong relationships with each child — we know your child, and they know us, creating a sense of trust and security.

3 Classrooms for age appropriate activities    We maintain small group sizes to ensure that each child receives personalized attention and support. This intimate setting allows us to tailor our activities to meet individual needs, foster close relationships, and provide a warm, inclusive environment where children feel understood and valued.

On-Site Enrichment Classes    In addition to daily care, we offer a variety of on-site enrichment classes (at an additional cost) such as gymnastics, cooking, and art. Children can easily participate in these activities without needing to leave the center, and our staff will transport them to and from their chosen classes. This convenience allows children to explore new interests and develop new skills, all within a safe, familiar environment.

Our Facilities    Located in the heart of town, our facility offers convenient access for families and includes a full gymnasium, a large outdoor playground, and access to a full soccer field and baseball diamond. This allows for a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities that promote physical fitness, teamwork, and fun. Our classrooms are designed with quiet areas, perfect for homework, reading, or simply relaxing after a busy day.

Flexible and Year-Round Care     We understand the needs of working families, which is why we offer care during school vacation weeks, early-release days, professional development days, and snow days (weather permitting). Our summer programs also provide continuity of care throughout the year. Whether it's a regular school day or an unexpected snow day, you can count on us to be there when you need us most.

Transportation from Local Schools Dee Bus Services transports your child from Robinson/Crisafulli and Nab/Abbot schools, offering seamless transitions from the school day to our care programs. This convenience ensures that families can trust their child will be safely transported to our facility each day.

By choosing Roudenbush School Age Care, you’re providing your child with a nurturing, engaging environment that supports their growth and development, while offering the flexibility and convenience that busy families need. We are proud to offer a program that truly meets the needs of children and parents alike, ensuring that every day is a rewarding and fun experience.
