Roudenbush Community Center Committee
At the 1976 Annual Town Meeting, Article 26 directed the Selectmen to appoint a Committee:
Whose function and control shall be to exercise care, custody, control and supervision of the Roudenbush Community Center… make suitable rules and regulations for the management and use of said Center and, subject to appropriation therefore, may appoint such clerks and other employees as it may require.
Originally, a seven-member committee, the Roudenbush Community Center Committee (RCCC) was expanded to nine members in 1984 and to fifteen at the 1994 Annual Town Meeting.
Today's 15-member RCCC is responsible for all decisions relating to the use of Roudenbush and is the fiscal agent of Roudenbush for its $2+ million budget. In addition, by vote of Town meeting in 1992 and 1994, the committee also has responsibility for the former William Edward Frost School (built in 1908) and “Old Nab” (built in 1922) School.
RCCC is divided into 3 subcommittees:
Building and Grounds
Personnel
Finance
The RCCC meets once a month. Between committee meetings, the subcommittees work with the Roudenbush director to develop policy recommendations for the full committee.
The RCCC meeting generally takes place the 4th Wednesday of every month. All are welcome.
